1960's - MB Infiltrates America

Fueled by the hate-filled theological rhetoric of Islamists like Sayyid Qutub, the 1960's saw the Muslim Brotherhood begin to lay the ground work for

In 1963, at the University of Illinois, the Muslim Student Association (MSA) was established by the Muslim Brotherhood.

MSA National is a student movement, providing a broad platform for Muslim students of all diverse backgrounds for the past four decades. On January 1st, 1963, about 75 Muslim students, representing nearly 10 campus organizations, met at the Urbana-Champaign campus of the University of Illinois to consider coordinating their efforts. The result was an organization known as the Muslim Students Association of the US & Canada or more commonly known as MSA National. MSA National's broad goals are to:
  • help Muslim student organizations to implement Islamic programs and projects,
  • mobilize and coordinate the human and material resources of Muslim student organizations,
  • and educate, mobilize, and empower students
Many current national leaders, speakers, and scholars have built this organization and credit part of their training to MSA National. [source: msa website]

Since it's inception, the Muslim Student Association has been very successful at penetrating academia and subverting the education system in America. As of today, MSA lists more than 140 affiliated groups from college campuses ll across America.

MSA has also generated additional Jihadist organizations and Islamist groups.

ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) is one such spin off. ISNA was mentioned by name in the Brotherhood's 1991 General Strategic Goal for North America memorandum

In 1983, MSA National gave birth to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), to be the umbrella of Islamic organizations that sprang from MSA in North America. MSA National maintains continuous affiliation with ISNA. As an affiliate of ISNA, historically, the MSA National President has a seat on the ISNA Majlis Ash-shura. [source: msa website]

Anwar Al-Awlaki, the American born Jihadist, was elected to the position of President for the Colorado State chapter of the Muslim Student Association while he attended.

Mr. Awlaki was neither among the most conservative Muslim students nor among the libertines who tossed aside religious restrictions on drinking and sex. He ran successfully for president of the Muslim Student Association against a Saudi student who was far stricter. [source: nytimes]

Additionally, the 1960's marked the beginning stages in a period of increased mosque construction in all parts of the country.

Construction of mosques sped up in the 1920s and 1930s, and by 1952, there were over 20 mosques. Although the first mosque was established in the U.S. in 1915, relatively few mosques were founded before the 1960s. Eighty-seven percent of mosques in the U.S. were founded within the last three decades according to the Faith Communities Today (FACT) survey. [soure: wikipedia]

During this time, plans were developed for the very first "Islamic Center" in New York.

Plans for a large Islamic center in New York were originally drawn up in the late 1960s as the first cultural center occupied a location at 1 Riverside Drive by 72nd street. The first Islamic Center started functioning on a small scale from a modest townhouse at that address. However, the board of trustees later aspired to build a new larger center in a way suiting its prestigious position in the community, and to be one of the landmarks of New York City.

Construction was delayed during the Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait and the First Gulf War. The mosque opened on April 15, 1991, for the feast of Eid ul-Fitr. In the end, more than 46 Muslim countries made contributions toward the $17 million construction cost of the mosque. [source: wikipedia]

Of particular significance is the cast of characters involved in planning for this House of Jihad. [Ground Zero Imam] Feisal Rauf's own father played a critical role in bringing this first "Islamic Center" to New York.

  • Rauf's father studied and taught at Islam's closest equivalent to the Vatican --- Al-Azhar University --- beside Hassan al-Banna, perpetuating the pious family tradition of radicalism.
  • In 1948, Rauf's father fled Egypt, during its first MB crackdown; Feisal was born in Kuwait.
  • In 1965, Feisal's father left Malaysia for New York City to stealthily buy two thirds of an E.96th Street block for an Islamic “personal trust,” revealing its $1.3 million Islamic money from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Libya only after construction of the MB mosque began in 1984.

According the 1991 General Strategic Goal for North America memo, Islamic Centers functions as very critical infrastructure assets for the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to subvert the US government and then (ultimately) forcibly take over America.

17. Understanding the role and the nature of work of "The Islamic Center" in every city with what achieves the goal of the process of settlement

The center we seek is the one which constitutes the "axis" of our Movement, the "perimeter" of the circle of our work, our "balance center", the "base" for our rise and our "Dar al-Arqam" to educate us, prepare us and supply our battalions in addition to being the "niche" of our prayers.

Meaning that the "center's" role should be the same as the "mosque's" role during the time of God's prophet, God's prayers and peace be upon him, when he marched to "settle" the Dawa' in its first generation in Madina. from the mosque, he drew the Islamic life and provided to the world the most magnificent and fabulous civilization humanity knew.

This mandates that, eventually, the region, the branch and the Usra turn into "operations rooms" for planning, direction, monitoring and leadership for the Islamic center in order to be a role model to be followed.

It's important to consistently point out that Al-Qaeda is the hell spawn of the Muslim Brotherhood (just as Hamas). Violent Jihad, like political Jihad, is merely one of multiple tactics that all work hand in hand.

Anyway, as with the 1928 - Birth of the Brotherhood page, this page is not intended to provide a full history of the Jihadist activity during this time period. The idea is to provide just enough pertinent history information to help people to understand the history of what dealing with today and hopefully help people to start connecting the dots.

Know that America has been under silent siege by Muhammad's army for many decades. Academia, our political system, Defense department, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement, have ALL been subverted by Allah's ninja warriors and stealth Jihad.

Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession. -George Washington
